Maya N. Henry

Attorney

Maya Henry joined Wagner, Cario, Veale & Zuber, LLP as an associate in 2023. While attending St. Mary’s University School of Law, Maya served as Staff Writer and Executive Board Member of The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice, Secretary of the Health Law Society, Risk Management Officer of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and Law Student Representative for the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. Maya was also an oral advocate for the St. Mary’s National Moot Court Team. Her previous work experience includes working as a Student Attorney at the St. Mary’s Center for Legal and Social Justice Consumer Protection Clinic and clerking for the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

Maya graduated from Texas Tech University in 2019, earning her B.A. in Psychology and Political Science. At Texas Tech, she was involved in the pre-law society, a member of the Psi Chi honors society, and served as Risk Management Chair of her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. Maya’s hobbies include cooking for her friends and family, trying new restaurants around San Antonio, going to the movies, and any outdoor activities.

Maya comes from a long line of health-care professionals. Her mother is a registered pharmacist, her aunt is a pediatric nurse practitioner, and her uncle is a board-certified radiologist. Maya expressed an interest in working in healthcare early on in her education. She ultimately chose to pursue law with an emphasis in healthcare because she recognized her strengths were more equipped for the legal field and understood that her lifelong exposure to the responsibilities and needs of medical professionals gave her a distinct advantage to handle issues in health law.
